27-04-2001: KCR announced the formation of a new political party: Telangana Rashtra Samithi at Jaladrushyam in Hyderabad. (KCR resigned as the Deputy Speaker, MLA and for Telugu Desam Party memebership)

17-05-2001: TRS party’s first public meeting ‘Simha Garjana’ was held at Karimnagar. It was a grand success with a public attendance of 2.5 lakh.

2003

06-01-2003: Telangana Garjana’ public meeting held at Gymkhana Grounds, Secunderabad.

2004

April-2004: Contested Assembly and Parliament Elections in alliance with Congress (TRS won 26 Assembly & 5 Parliament seats)

26-05-2004: Telangana State Formation is incorporated in UPA Government’s ‘Common Minimum Programme’

07-06-2004: President includes the ‘Telangana State Demand’ in his speech to the Joint Parliament Session.

23-06-2004: TRS joined the UPA Coalition in State Government and got 6 ministries.

July-2004: PM Manmohan Singh in his pressmeet at Vigyan Bhavan said, UPA Government is committed to the formation of Telangana State.

2005

08-01-2005: UPA constituted a Three Men Committee to study the Telangana State demand with Pranab Mukherji as Chairman.

08-07-2005: 6 TRS Ministers resigned from the AP Cabinet and TRS left the UPA Coalition.

24-02-2008: KCR left for Delhi to tender his resignation as Karimnagar MP.

03-03-2008: KCR & 3 TRS MPs resigned their MP seats

14-04-2008: KCR attended Ambedkar Jayanthi celebrations at Motakondur and visited Wartur Dalit-wada for night stay.

18-07-2008: KCR left for Delhi and met Sri Ajith Singh.

21-07-2008: KCR & B.Vinod Kumar took oath as MPs.

22-07-2008: Participated in voting in the Confidence Motion moved by Congress w.r.t. Atomic deal with USA & voted against UPA.

23-07-2008: KCR met Smt. Mayavati to discuss possibilities of a third front.

28-07-2008: KCR met BJP leaders Sri Rajnath Singh & Sri L.K. Advani and sought support for Telangana State formation.

2009

21-10-2009: Telangana Udyoga Garjana held at Siddipet. The program was a grand success.

29-11-2009: KCR started for Siddipet, where he was supposed to sit for fast on to death. At about 9.00 a.m., he was arrested by grey hounds policemen at Algunoor village of Karimnagar district. He was taken to Khammam and produced before Munsif Magistrate (MM) by the police. MM ordered for judicial custody for 14 days. KCR was kept in Khammam district jail. He started his indefinite fast (fast unto death) on 29-11-2009.

01-12-2009: Total bandh was observed in Telangana region in protest against the arrest of KCR.

06-12-2009: Telangana bandh, which was announced for 48 hours, was successful and peaceful.

09-12-2009: On behalf of the Indian Government, Hon’ble Home Minister of India, Sri Chidambaram announced, “The process of formation of Telangana state would be initiated.”

12-12-2009: Vijayotsava Rally (Victory Rally) from KCR’s residence to Telangana Bhavan. Sri KCR & Smt. Sonia Gandhi placards were displayed.

23-12-2009: The second statement released by Sri Chidambaram that stated,“After the statement on 9th, the situation in A.P. is altered. There is a need to hold wide consultation with all political parties and groups in the state. Govt. of India will take steps to involve all concerned in the process.” Telangana-JAC was formed at Congress MLA Sri Jana Reddy’s house to bring everyone together for a seperate state.

24-12-2009: First Telangana JAC meeting held at Kalinga Function Hall.

30-12-2009: Government of India sent an invitation to TRS party to attend the All Party meeting at Delhi on 5th January

2010

05-01-2010: KCR and Prof. Jayashankar garu on behalf of the TRS party, participated in the All Party Meeting presided by Mr. P. Chidambaram, held in Delhi on the formation of Telangana.

28-01-2010: The Central Home Minister announced that a committee on Telangana would be constituted within a week.

03-02-2010: The Central Government constituted a five-man committee, headed by Justice. B.N. Srikrishna (Retd. Judge of the Supreme Court of India)

04-02-2010: Political JAC organised ‘Vanta Vaarpu’ programme on National Highways.

13-02-2010: TRS politburo members have decided to resign from their positions as MLA, MP, and MLC. Telangana Student JAC & Political JAC announced ‘Telangana Bandh’. Political JAC meeting held at Green Park Hotel, Begumpet.

14-02-2010: TRS MLAs and MLCs resigned their posts and rendered their resignations to the Speaker.

04-03-2010: The Sri Krishna Committee members came to Hyderabad, and the Governor arranged a dinner at Raj Bhavan and invited all political party presidents to attend. KCR, on behalf of the TRS party, attended the event.

17-05-2010: Sri B. Vinod Kumar met with the Sri Krishna Committee at Lake View Guest House at 2:00 p.m. and submitted the data requested by them.

27-07-2010: In the Telangana region, by-elections were held in 12 Assembly segments.

30-07-2010: By-election results have been announced. All 12 MLAs who resigned were elected. All 12 TDP candidates lost deposits & 4 Congress candidates lost (Siddipet, Mancherial, Sircilla & Huzurabad).

08-09-2010: TRS MLAs and leaders staged a dharna at the Agricultural Commissioner’s office to protest the scarcity of fertilisers in Telangana.

24-11-2010: KCR organised ‘Kooli Pani’ at Uppal, Alair, and Kazipet to mobilise money for the big event on 09-12-2010.

25-11-2010: KCR Kooli Pani at Sher Lingampally, Kukatpally and Quthbullapur.

16-12-2010: KCR attended the Telangana Maha Garjana public meeting at Warangal. The meeting was attended by more than 20 lakhs people. Swamy Agnivesh, President of Arya Samaj and social worker, attended the meeting as a chief guest.

26-12-2010: KCR attended the JAC meeting at AV College Auditorium to chalk out the future action on the SKC report.

2011

06-01-2011: Home Minister of India P Chidambaram handed over the Sri Krishna Committee report to all the party representatives who attended the meeting at the North Block of Parliament (Congress, CPI, CPM, PRP & MIM attended) The TRS, TDP and BJP boycotted the meeting called by the Home Minister.

17-01-2011: The Rastha Roko programme is organised at all the District Head Quarters and Hyderabad surroundings on all the major routes leading to the city. Lakhs of people took to the streets.

22-02-2011 & 23-02-2011: 48 hours bandh from 6.00am on February 22, 2011 to 6.00pm on February 23, 2011.

01-03-2011: The Rail Roko programme given by JAC and TRS was a total success and most of the trains either starting or reaching Hyderabad on March 1, 2011 were cancelled.

10-03-2011: The Million March, organised by Political JAC, was successful. Thousand of people took part in the march. All TRS MLAs and Congress MPs (Sri K Keshava Rao & Sri Madhu Yaski), Sri KCR & Sri Kodandaram attended the meeting.

29-04-2011: TRS 10th anniversary celebrations – ‘TRS Dashabdhi Uthsavalu’ was organised at Mahabubnagar. KCR was re-elected as President unanimously.

13-05-2011: KCR announced the Telangana Udyama programme schedule as follows: Rashta Roko on May 14th, Dharnas at Mandal Head Quarters and Constituency Head Quarters on May 19th, Students Sadassu at Hyderabad on May 23rd, District Collectorates Muttadi on May 25th, and Rail Rokos on May 29th.

17-06-2011: KCR addressed a public meeting at Sulthan Bazar against the displacement of public houses by the Metro Rail

19-06-2011: Hyderabad Cooks on Roads’ (Vanta-Vaarpu), organised by JAC. KCR participated at Cancer Hospital, Harish Rao at Hitech City, Eatala Rajender at Alwal and KT Rama Rao at Ameerpet.

21-06-2011: Prof. Kothapally Jayashankar passed away at 11.00 am. KCR and other Telangana and TRS leaders rushed to Warangal.

22-06-2011: Prof. Jayashankar’s funeral was attended by a large number of Telanganites and TRS leaders at Padmakshamma Smashana Vatika.

05-07-2011: Telangana Political JAC declared a 48-hour bandh from July 5, 2011 at 6 a.m. to July 7, 2011, as well as two days of rail roko on July 8 and 9, 2011.

12-07-2011: The Vanta-Vaarpu programme (organised by JAC in Telangana districts other than Hyderabad) was a huge success.

14-07-2011: The Rail Roko program, postponed from July 8 and 9 of this month to July 14, 2011 was totally successful. 31 trains were cancelled by the Indian Railways. All MMTS trains were cancelled, and 20 trains were diverted to other places.

16-07-2011: T. Harish Rao, MLA and Prof. Kodandaram met with Malakondaiah, Chairman, Police Recruitment Board and asked him not to go ahead with the recruitment of SIs till Telangana state is announced by Parliament.

06-08-2011: Prof. Jayashankar’s statue was unveiled at Telangana Bhavan by KCR at 12.00 noon. The State Executive Committee was convened to condole the death of Prof. Jayashankar.

11-08-2011: KCR proceeded to Chennur in Adilabad District and attended the joining of TDP and Congress leaders in TRS. Sakala Janula Samme is postponed from August 17, 2011 to September 06, 2011. A huge public meeting on 05-09-2011 at Karimnagar in the name of ‘Jana Garjana’ was planned.

12-08-2011: The Indian government removed clause 14(F) from the Presidential Order.

17-08-2011: KTR attended the Sakula Janula Samme preparatory meeting at Indira Park. A procession wss carried out from Sundarayya Vignana Bhavan, Baghlingampally to Indira Park.

12-09-2011: TRS organised a Sakala Janula Samme preparation meeting for the JAC programme. ‘Jana Garjana’ meeting at SRS College Grounds, Karimnagar was oragnised. KCR proceeded to Karimnagar with a convoy and Prof. Kodandaram, Ch. Vidyasagar Rao, Bandaru Dattatreya, Suryam & Govardhan attended, and the meeting was a big success.

19-09-2011: Telangana Rastha Roko is organised in Telangana’s border areas along the National Highways NH-7, NH-9, and NH-10.

25-09-2011: Rail-Roko, a two-day program, and city auto bandh was organised. Officially, Rail Roko was organised at 30 places, and unofficially, people gathered at around 300 railway stations.

11-10-2011: KCR was in Indira Park for the Telangana Udyogula Maha Dharna. The Rail Roko programme was scheduled from October 15, 2011 to October 17, 2011.

01-11-2011: Black flag was hoisted in across the Telangana region. Nayini Narasimha Reddy hoisted the flag at Telangana Bhavan. MLAs Somarapu Sathyanarayana and Dr. T. Rajaiah and T. Harish Rao attended the meeting.

16-11-2011: The Telangana Sadhana Pada Yathra programme began in all Telangana districts except Khammam where it was scheduled to begin after two days.

01-12-2011: Assembly session’s first day, TRS MLAs took a protest rally wearing black T-shirts from Ambedkar statue to T-martyrs memorial and paid a floral tribute to martyrs and entered the Assembly.

2012

21-03-2012: TRS won 4 Assembly seats – Adilabad, Kamareddy, Station Ghanpur & Kollapur. Telangana Nagara Samithi won Nagar kurnool and BJP won Mahabubnagar seat.

27-04-2012: TRS 11th annual day event a huge success at Ananthagiri Hills in Vikarabad.

28-06-2012: The Singareni Colleries election results were announced. TBGK Singareni won 5 out of 11 positions. The three unions (AITUC, INTUC and HMS) won 2 positions each.

17-07-2012: KCR wrote an open letter to CM about the electricity situation in the state, i.e., irregular supply, acute shortage and blamed the government for not having proper planning.

30-09-2012: The Telangana March ‘Chalo Hyderabad’ programme called by political JAC was successful. MLA KTR led a rally of 3000 people from Telangana Bhavan and MLA Harish Rao led a rally of 15,000 people from Jubilee bus station to the Necklace Road.

01-11-2012: In view of A.P. Formation Day, a black flag is hoisted at Telangana Bhavan by Naini Narsimha Reddy, Politburo Member.

07-11-2012: Telangana Politburo Members, MLAs, State Committee Members, State Cell Presidents, and District Presidents attended the Telangana ‘Medho Madhanam’ in Karimnagar. The meeting decided to have a public meeting in the name of’ ‘Telangana Samara Bheri’ at Suryapet on November 25, 2012.

25-11-2012: Telangana Samara Bheri’, a huge public meeting was held at Suryapet. A retired DIG, Mahender Reddy, joined TRS. KCR announced a pension of Rs.5000/- and Rs. 1500/- for the physically handicapped and old age, widow pensioners respectively.

29-11-2012: Diksha Divas’ was organised by the Greater Hyd & RR Dist (East) at Indirapark, MLA Eatala Rajender and Politburo members Naini Narsimha Reddy and Padma Rao attended the meeting.

05-12-2012: The ‘Palle Bata’ programme began in all Telangana constituencies and lasted for 40 days, from December 15 to January 14, 2013.

28-12-2012: KCR and Nayini Narsimha Reddy attended the All Party Meeting in Delhi. Home minister Sri Sushil Kumar Shinde presided over the meeting. TRS, BJP, CPI, Congress, TDP, YSRCP, MIM, and CPI (M) parties were present. Sri KCR blamed the centre for inaction on the Telangana issue and gave a bandh call on December 29th, 2012.

2013

25-02-2013: TRS won the Graduate and Teachers’ MLC constituency from Karimnagar.

29-04-2013: Sansad Yatra’ and ‘Satyagraha Deeksha’ calls given by TJAC started at 11.00 am at ‘Jantar Mantar’.

02-06-2013: “Telangana ‘Atma Gourabha Sabha’ was organized at Nizam College. The following members joined TRS in the presence of KCR:

14-06-2013: The Chalo Assembly event was successful—a total of 47 MLAs, 14 MLCs, and one MP were arrested. TRS MLAs went to the terrace of TRS LP building and hoisted a black-flag on the building. The agitators broke the police cordon and went up to the assembly building, but were arrested by the police.

17-06-2013: KCR appointed K Keshava Rao as Secretary General of the Party and Chairman of the TRS National Activity (Jateeya Vyavaharala) committee.

30-07-2013: The CWC announced the formation of a separate Telangana State with ten districts and Hyderabad as its capital.

03-10-2013: The Central Cabinet has approved the Telangana note as announced by the CWC, i.e., Telangana with 10 districts and Hyderabad as the capital, has been approved. A GOM will be appointed to go into the details of creating a separate Telangana State.

30-10-2013: The Dept. of Home Ministry, Government of India sent a text message inviting the TRS members (small group) to present their views on the terms and conditions mentioned by GOM (11 items) on 12-11-2013

07-11-2013: Union Home Ministry has invited two TRS members to express its views before the GOM on November 12, 2013, at 5.30 p.m.

12-11-2013: KCR & KK presented TRS views before GOM at 5.30PM.

21-11-2013: At 6.30 PM, political and economic officers from the US Embassy met MLA KTR at Telangana Bhavan. KTR explained the various aspects of TRS activities in Telangana and Telangana State Formation by the UPA government and the consequent happenings in Telangana and Andhra.

03-12-2013: “KCR addressed the media and announced the plan of action against the rumours of Rayala Telangana. On December 4, processions and rallies will be held in all areas of Telangana.

– Total Telangana Bandh was announced on December 5, 2013 in Telangana region & he requested all the organization & business people to cooperate for the success of bandh.

– A Politburo meeting will be held on December 6, 2013 to chalk out the programme depending on the union cabinet decision.”

5-12-2013: A total bandh was observed in the entire Telangana. Bandh was peaceful and successful. The Union Cabinet met and approved the draft bill on the bifurcation of AP and the creation of Telangana state. MLA KTR thanked Telanganites for their contributions to the success of Telangana Bandh.

16-12-2013: The Bill was introduced in the Assembly by Raja SadhaRam, Assembly secretary. Following this, Assembly was adjourned 3 times. Andhra MLAs kept the Assembly Speaker under room arrest. Deputy Speaker Mallu Batti Vikramarka took the chair and asked Sridhar Babu, Minister of Assembly Affairs, to introduce the bill.

26-12-2013: KCR, along with TRS MPs, MLCs, MLAs, and other important leaders of the party, met the President of India at Rashtrapathi Nilayam at Bollaram, Sec’bad. and presented a memorandum to delete certain clauses in the bill which are detrimental to Telangana.

2014

04-02-2014: Group of Ministers cleared the AP State Re-organisation bill after making a few amendments, based on the inputs from the state assembly.

07-02-2014: Union Cabinet clears the AP State Re-organisation bill and plans to introduce it in the Upper House of Parliament with 32 amendments.

13-02-2014: AP State Re-organisation bill is introduced in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of Parliament, by Union Home minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde despite protests and disruptions by MPs belonging to Andhra region.

18-02-2014: AP State Re-organisation is passed by the Lok Sabha with the support from the Congress, TRS, BJP and other local parties.

20-02-2014: AP State Re-organisation Bill is passed by the Rajya Sabha with the support from TRS, Congress, BJP and other regional parties.

01-03-2014: The AP State Re-organisation bill receives the assent of the President.

04-03-2014: The Government of India declares 2 June 2014 as the Telangana Formation Day. Telangana takes birth as the 29th state of the Union of India with Hyderabad as its capital.

06-03-2014: The Election Commission of India announces the election schedule for the State Assembly. Elections will be held in two phases, on April 30 and May 7 along with the Lok Sabha elections. All the 17 Lok Sabha and 119 Assembly segments in 10 districts of Telangana, that will form the new state on June 2nd 2014, will go to the polls in the first phase i.e. on April 30.

04-04-2014: TRS Party releases the first list of 69 candidates for the assembly polls. Party gives priority to those who participated in the Telangana movement.

30-04-2014: People of Telangana turn out in big numbers to cast their votes in the peaceful polls held for 119 Assembly and 17 parliament constituencies of Telangana, which would formally receive the statehood on 2nd June 2014.

17-05-2014: TRS party secures a majority in the assembly elections by bagging 63 out of the 119 seats in Telangana. K. Chandrashekhar Rao is elected as leader of the TRS legislature party.

18-05-2014: TRS Party president K Chandrasekhara Rao, accompanied by party MLAs, MPs and other leaders, met Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan.

29-05-2014: Andhra Pradesh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan invites TRSLP leader K. Chandrasekhar Rao to form government in Telangana, which would come into existence as the 29th state of India on 2 June. The swearing-in ceremony would be held at Raj Bhavan on 2nd June 2014 at 8.15 am.

02-06-2014: TRS Party founder and Chief architect of the separate Telangana agitation, Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao is sworn in as the first Chief Minister of the newly created State of Telangana. The 11 cabinet ministers who were sworn in: Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Dr Rajaiah, KT Rama Rao. T Harish Rao, N. Narsimha Reddy, P. Srinivas Reddy, Eatela Rajendar, T. Padma Rao, P. Mahendar Reddy, Jogu Ramanna and Jagadish Reddy.

03-07-2014: TRS Party shows its domination in municipal elections.TRS bagged all the Municipal Corporations in the state (Karimnagar, Ramagundam and Nizamabad) and majority municipalities.

16-09-2014: TRS party candidate Kotha Prabhakar Reddy won the Medak (Lok Sabha) by-election with a margin of over 3 lakh votes.

2015

26-04-2015: TRS Party’s 14th Plenary was held in Hyderabad

27-04-2015: A public meeting held at Parade grounds, Hyderabad on the occasion of TRS Party formation day.

24-11-2015: TRS Party candidate Pasunuri Dayakar wins Warangal (Lok Sabha) by-poll with a record majority of nearly 4.6 lakh votes. TRS Party retains the seat.

2016

05-02-2016: TRS Sweeps GHMC Polls: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi completed a near-complete sweep of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections by winning 99 out of the 150 seats.

16-02-2016: TRS Party bagged the Narayankhed assembly seat in the by-elections with a huge margin. TRS candidate M Bhupal Reddy beats his nearest rival P Sanjeeva Reddy of Congress by a massive majority of over 53,000 votes.

09-03-2016: TRS Party swept the civic body elections in Warangal (Municipal Corporation), Khammam (Municipal Corporation) and Achampet (Nagar Panchayat) in Mahabubnagar district, TRS won all the 20 wards of Achampet (Nagar Panchayat).

27-04-2016: TRS Party’s 15th Plenary Session held at Khammam

19-05-2016: TRS Party candidate Tummala Nageswara Rao won the Palair Assembly by-poll by a margin of 45,682 votes and wrested the seat from Congress

2017

21-04-2017: TRS held its 16th plenary in Kompally, Hyderabad. K Chandrasekhar Rao was re-elected as the president of TRS Party.

11-04-2019: 2019 Indian general elections held in Telangana for 17 LS Constituencies.

23-05-2019: LS Poll results: TRS Party won 9 Lok Sabha Seats 05-06-2019: TRS Party won 372 out of 534 ZPTC Seats, 3556 out of 5816 MPTC Seats and won all 32 ZP Chairperson positions.

27-06-2019: KCR re-enrolls himself as a party member, and started the party membership drive at Telangana Bhavan.

22-08-2019: Around 60 Lakh members enroll in TRS Party Membership Drive. TRS Party became one of the largest political parties in India.

08-09-2019: Telangana Cabinet expanded. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao inducted six ministers: Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao, Gangula Kamalakar, Satyavathi Rathod, Puvvada Ajay Kumar, T.Harish Rao and P. Sabitha Indra Reddy.

2020

24-01-2020: Muncipal Elections: TRS Party won 105 Municipalities and 10 Municipal Corporations in Telangana.
